Sounds great, the only thing that makes me doubt is if using this will make the engine to be at a higher temperature, this pieces are dissipating the heat and if you cover them it won’t let it go, like an oven, am I wrong?

Yup. Thats the deal breaker for me- no fuel gage on a $27,000 bike which guzzles gas. The 40 mpg is a ridiculous lie. So you got the fuel low level light which comes on after 80 miles. Just don’t pass up a gas station on this bike. I’ll keep my Diavel.

Engine break-in is more to do with bedding/seating the rings and running in the cams. The metal in the oil is from the cylinder wall cross hatching. In my experience keeping it out the rev limiter, varying RPMs and loading the engine are the best way. Race bikes are different because it's only gonna do a race or two before being gone through again.

Does anyone know if the chain loosening after time could cause shifting issues? I haven't had my chain serviced since last fall and was riding the other night, stepped down to shift 6 to 5 and throttled on and the bike free-revved to redline then after a second dropped into 5th gear very hard and sent the front end up in the air

WRONG. You lubed the outside of the chain and not the inside where it contacts the sprockets. .

I don’t think it’ll hurt if you do what is recommended, after all, they built/design and engineered the bike. 600 miles of being good and observing does good results. They (Ducati) never said anything else after 600 miles, so I think it’s a negligible duration. After that 600 miles, ride it as hard as you like. It’s the same process I went through with my ex-girlfriend!!!! And she’s now my wife, and she’s very happy and proud that I treated her well right from the beginning! Lessons to be learned boys! Ride safe, ride your ride!!!

I work at a Ducati dealership, and my service representatives as well and my head master tech and other experts that I use for resources have stated that you shouldn't treat the bike differently than how you would normally ride. The best way to break in the motors (and this comes from testing and experience of the shop) is riding the bike as much and as hard as you want to, but to avoid staying at constant rpm. If you are traveling down the road at 70 and holding 5k rpm on the V4 for more than 10-15 minutes, it sets unequal amounts of wear. All in all, best thing to do is ride hard, go fast, and constantly be rolling through gears and speeds until the 600 miles service.

I use a streetfighter v4s 2022 in Bangkok where the weather is extremely hot and the traffic jam is a nightmare. Heat is only a problem for me under extreme traffic jam. In your location it should not be a problem at all

why are you applying it to the outside of the chain, it will be all over the place. The most important side off the chain that needs some lube is the inside of the chain. Nice and clear video though but imo you should only apply grease on the inside of the chain.

I have a first run 03 999 and they were having that issue (not mine), which turned out to be several people having pinched wires in the wiring harness. Having currently 23 sport bikes and have raced Suzuki’s in the late 80’s/early 90’s, I much prefer my 999 over all my others, save my 02 RC51 (v-twin). Ducati, with the dry clutch and performance brakes stock, Pirelli rubber and not to negate you are literally buying an art piece you could stick in your living room…..is well worth the price! Ride safe brother! 🤙

if you have to pay an "authorized dealer" to adjust a motorcycle chain I think its fair to say you should not own a motorcycle period. If you cant adjust your chain that means you probably do not check your tire pressure either, meaning you are a danger to yourself on the road.
